SPARE PARTS - Volume 1 & 2
22 unreleased compositions from the 'Vault.'

Over the years many pieces of music have been put aside for various reasons. Songs that didn't fit in with a particular album or others from side-line projects.

Most of these 22 tracks are instrumental. They have been remixed, remastered and
in some cases, reworked to bring them up to scratch. Extra notes have been written below to outline the origins of most songs.

Where Was I - Written around the time of my first album 'Ghostflyers', so pre 2010.

Song of the Windflowers / Last Day of Autumn - The first instrumentals I ever composed sometime back in the 1980's.

The Exiled Man - The opening song to an album that was going to be entitled 'Writing's of the Exiled Man.' It never materialized, so remains a 'lone' track. Sometimes it's best to be alone.

The Gate Opens / First Meeting / Fort Tabarsi / Tahirah / The Gate Closes - All tracks from an unreleased album called 'The Gate.' Will it ever be completed? Maybe. 'Tahirah' was to be a 'vocal' track, but stands quite well as an instrumental, as released in this compilation.

A Near Encounter - I must have written the music for this around the time of 'The State of Things' back in 2017, as some of the musical passages are in both compositions. The story was written back in the 1980's when the artwork was produced.

American Gun / Marching Orders - These tracks were going to be on the 'Seasons of Night & Light' album, but once again, didn't tie in with the other songs.

Mr. Finndleslip / Pigeon Pecks - Both from 'musicals' I composed back in my 'teaching' years.

B Thing - Started with a bass guitar being played through an effects pedal. Hence the name.

Little Tron Returns - Written with 'Trons Last Stand' from 'Songs in Truncated Prisms.' The latter made it onto the album.

Connections - Another piece in the vein of 'Where Was I'.

Dance of the Eastern Lote Tree Beetle - The dance continues.

Until Next Time - The original intro that has now turned into the forthcoming track from the album 'Elysian Flight', due out later this year.

Steve Carr Clark - March 2026
